What are Tracks?
Tracks are structured pathways that group participants by their skill level and the degree of autonomy they are ready for. Each Track (A, B, and C) offer a different level of challenge, with Track C providing guided customisation tasks, Track B allowing partial freedom to expand a solution, and Track A allowing students to define their project from scratch.
How to assign students to tracks?
Based on the answers to the Technical Ability Questionnaire, teachers and tutors should match students to the Track that best fits their current skill level. Questions that cover their preference for the amount of independent work could be big clues for placing students in a track.
Track placement should happen before the event starts or during check-in. To achieve this, please send the questionnaire in advance.
Teams should be formed by 3-4 students who have been placed into the same Track after completing their Technical Ability Questionnaire. If possible, try to group students from the host school and wider community together.
Ideally, team formation should be completed before students are in the same room / during check-in.
